2019 Sponsor Jack Daniel's Tennesee Whiskey is bringing America's 1st whiskey to CRABS & BEER by the JAMES. In the early 1900s, Jack Daniel's learned to make whiskey from his African-American friend's father "Nearest" Green along with Reverend Dan Call at a still owned by the lutheran reverend. Having been Reverend Call's caretaker, Nearest was primarily responsible for teaching the young distiller the craft of making whiskey. After the Civil War, Reverend Call sold his distillery to Jack. Nearest, being a free man, came to work for him. When Jack moved his business, Nearest's sons and grandsons including George went with Jack to work the distillery. To this day, members of the Green family continue to work for the company.
Jack Daniel's will be serving up mixes from classics like Jack & Coke and Jack & Ginger to Jack Highballs and other specialty mixes for our attendees who prefer cocktails .
Thank you Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey for your support of CRABS & BEER by the JAMES!
